The MacKinnon Group is led by Dr. Jill MacKinnon, Ph.D. CTR. Dr. MacKinnon is the former director of the Florida Cancer Data System (FCDS) – Florida’s statewide cancer registry and past president and current member of the Board of Directors of the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) -  a professional organization that develops and promotes uniform data standards for cancer registration; provides education and training; certifies population-based registries; aggregates and publishes data from central registries; and promotes the use of cancer surveillance data and systems for cancer control and epidemiologic research, public health programs, and patient care to reduce the burden of cancer in North America. Under the leadership of Dr. MacKinnon, FCDS has been one of the nation’s leading cancer surveillance systems since she took over in 1980.
