All business big or small need to analyze and present data.  Data analysis is the process of developing answers to questions through the examination and interpretation of data.  The basic steps in the analytic process consist of identifying issues, determining the availability of suitable data, deciding on which methods are appropriate for answering the questions of interest, applying the methods and evaluating, summarizing and communicating the results.    The MacKinnon Group can assist clients with statistical data analysis at all levels from simple frequencies and crosstabs to sophisticated modeling to geo-special analysis and modeling using Geographical Information Systems (GIS).  For instance, by incorporating information from your own files combined with other data streams (such as institutional data, census data, etc.) clients will have the ability to understand and shed light on relevant issues.   Additionally, presenting these data can be as simple as using tables, histograms and pie charts or visualizing the data in two and three dimensions in order to convey your message or answer the questions of interest.
